about gargle

Started in November 2003, gargle.org is designed to be a
sounding board for open-minded people interested in sharing their ideas and opinions. We discuss many different topics: from politics and religion to science, philosophy, music, art and more. The site has no particular political leaning, and the only rule here is civility.

Gargle has two main forums: A newslog, where links to full articles are provided with or without commentary, and a columns section for opinion pieces and essays. The general public is free to comment on any of these items in an item's comments section, but in order to contribute newslog entries or columns you must be have a (free) site membership.

A note about comments: I actively block IP's that for one reason or another
seem suspicious. This inludes some automated blocking, depending on a few
different factors. In the unlikely event that you are blocked, if you're interested in becoming a member of this site, or if you have any questions or suggestions, please shoot me an email at gargler@gmail.com. Cheers!
