The Debates & other Legends of the Falls

by Intrepid

Face it, we're heading straight over the falls without even a barrel to buoy us! And when I say "we," I mean the good old USA.

I did not watch the final installment of the 'Great' Presidential Debates last night. Instead I went out line dancing with some friends, came home and ignored the whole charade. What is the point? As a friend recently observed, "If McCain is willing to lose 'honorably,' then I'm not interested."

A bitter-sweet sentiment! But whoever thinks McCain is willing to lose "honorably" has got it wrong. I think any political operative who has built a career on trying to be all things to all constituents must inevitably wind up standing for nothing. Kindly tell me what "honor" there is in that?

Barack Obama is a far better liar, manipulator and hustler. He's made his bones and dedicated his life to flipping the system (and now the nation) to his advantage. And I believe he is a villain who travels with Masters.

Senator John McCain cannot compete in these areas because he happens to be a flawed but real person whose life has been about service. But neither can McCain go to war with Obama over "the content of his character" or any other substantive issue because on all issues (but defense) McCain stands for NOTHING. He has sold himself too many times in too many market places on far too many important issues. And now it is our country and its citizens that must pay the price for all this political criminality (from both parties) that has been devouring our America like Cancer.

With a Socialist presidency in the bag, that is backed by a DEM-packed House and Senate, the ACP/Alinsky process will at last be completed. Our nation (as we have known it) will be dismantled. When this happens, I will live in my own America of history, memory & spirit as best I can. I will feel grateful to God to be well old enough to recall and celebrate exactly what that means. And I'll abide in the knowledge of that blessed memory, and hope for another day -- which may never come again.
