An excellent assessment.

To which might be added the following: Yesterday we saw the worst stock market performance on any inauguration day in the nation's history. The reported reason is that the bailout has thus far failed to bring about any positive change in the banking industry. There has been no accountability for how that money has been used, and one wonders if anybody even knows. Once again the public has been betrayed. This bumbling idiot who occupied the White House for the last eight years but who can't even speak the English language intelligently has failed the American people, and Obama would have to work pretty hard not to look good in comparison.

I pretty much agree with every word of your criticism--especially pertaining to the criminal betrayal of the American public (not to mention the hijacking of capitalism). However, when you add that "Obama would have to work pretty hard not to look good in comparison," I must remind you that's particularly true in consideration of the army of fifth column media and the virtual one-party system he has to front for him, bolster him and cover every word he utters, every move he makes.

And let us not forget that Obama has always looked and will continue to LOOK terrific. That too is a front. So, in a heartbeat we have moved from criminal incompetence, dishonesty and corruption to something else....but what?

Re: "NOW they are finally getting it."
When you say, "they," I assume you mean the editorial writer(s) for NewsMax. If so, kindly note that they do indeed "get it," as do I. But not necessarily in the same way that you do.

Remember, this editorial is about the Bush legacy being the betrayal of Conservatism. And indeed, I have lamented (here on this blog) over WBush's pretense to conservatism while in fact being something quite different throughout his two terms. That 'something' is the whole point of the article. And it is the very cause of the betrayal of his country in addition to the wreckage of his own party (neither of which he cares for half so much as Arab oil and his family's interests).

So, what you TOLD ME SO was self-evident. But finding the solution for rescuing my party--as the Republican party rather than a shadow (or flunky) for the Shadow Dems--is not so simple.
